(DCWatchdog.com) – In new evidence of the political extremism that has gripped American leftists in general and their blind hatred for Donald Trump in particular, a new poll has discovered that one-fifth of Democrat voters are eager to see the 46th US president die in prison, or get executed or exiled.
This finding is from the latest survey by Rasmussen polls, as cited by Breitbart News.
“If we needed any more evidence of the political left’s troubling descent into authoritarianism, this poll provides it in spades,” Jack McPherrin from the Heartland Institute told Rasmussen.
Breitbart points out that many Democrats hold unfavorable views towards Donald Trump, despite his presidency fostering prosperity for the nation.
It stresses that, before the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, the Trump administration was instrumental in building the world’s most prosperous economy, according to White House records.
Thus, under Trump, the United States experienced the creation of 7 million new jobs, a figure that exceeded the projections of government experts by over three times.
There was a rise in incomes across every metropolitan area, the first occurrence of such widespread income growth in nearly 30 years.
During the Trump administration, the unemployment rate for women fell to its lowest level in nearly 70 years.
At the same time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above 20,000 for the first time in 2017 and reached over 30,000 in 2020.
In other developments, the number of jobless claims plummeted to a low not seen in nearly 50 years, and nearly seven million individuals were lifted off of food stamps during this period.
Yet, according to the poll findings, 72% of Democrats believe Trump is guilty of crimes involving an alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
What is more, 12% of Democrats suggest that he should receive a life sentence in prison if found guilty; 4% of Democrats favor the idea of exiling him; and 2% of Democrats support the death penalty on him.
“The number of Americans – especially Democrats – who already presume Trump’s guilt is already highly concerning. And, if he’s found guilty, more than three-quarters of Democrats believe he should be banned from public office, with approximately one-fifth opting to jail him for life, put him permanently in exile, or execute him,” McPherrin commented.
The Rasmussen poll was conducted from November 30 to December 6 among 1,085 voters with a 3-point error margin.
