Hunter Needed Joe to Sell ‘the Brand’

(DCWatchdog.com) – Hunter Biden seemingly used his father to push murky business dealings, including by putting Joe on the phone with foreign and domestic partners on over 20 occasions, his close associate Devon Archer has disclosed before Congress.

Archer, who partnered with Hunter Biden in multiple businesses, gave a bombshell closed-door testimony before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee on Monday.

His revelations in media reports have been confirmed by lawmakers such as Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman of New York.

According to Devon Archer, Hunter Biden would frequently put then-Vice President Joe Biden on speakerphone during business calls to help him sell “the brand.”

Archer told Congress members one such call featured a dinner in Communist China with Jonathan Li, an executive of Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), Breitbart News reports.

Both Hunter Biden and Archer had stakes in BHR through a shell firm named Rosemont Seneca Thornton.

The first son’s business partner disclosed that in 2014, Joe Biden went with Hunter Biden and other business associates to a dinner at Café Milano in Washington, DC. Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, the wife of late Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, also attended it.

The Luzhkov family was close to both Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his predecessor, Boris Yeltsin.

Republican investigators previously found that Baturina sent Hunter Biden’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a $3.5 million wire transfer on February 14, 2014.

That was days before Putin’s Russia invaded Ukraine for the first time and seized the Crimean Peninsula.

Subsequent US sanction lists against Russian oligarchs and Putin regime supporters exclude Baturina.

In April-May 2014, both Archer and Hunter Biden were appointed to the board of energy company Burisma, owned by pro-Russian Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevski. Hunter had a $1 million annual salary.

Archer also told Congress that in December 2015, Zlochevski pressured Hunter Biden to find help from Washington against Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin.

Shokin was investigating Burisma for corruption but was fired after Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in US aid to Ukraine. In 2018, the then-former vice president bragged about “firing” the Ukrainian prosecutor.

“Devon Archer’s testimony today confirms Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) declared in a statement.

“Why did Joe Biden lie to the American people about his family’s business dealings and his involvement? It begs the question what else he is hiding from the American people,” Comer stressed.
