Trump Slams ‘Thug’ Cop Killer (Video)

(DCWatchdog.com) – Just as President Biden went out to fundraise for his reelection together with Obama and Clinton, former President Donald Trump attended the wake honoring a slain New York police officer, blasting the “thug” gunman as well as the pro-crime Democrat rulers of the city who “don’t learn.”

Trump made his remarks while paying his respects at the wake for NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, who was killed by being shot beneath his bulletproof vest, leaving behind a grieving wife and a one-year-old son.

The accused shooter, 34-year-old Guy Rivera, had a significant criminal history with 21 prior arrests and had served a prison sentence of five years for drug-related offenses, as reported by the New York Post.

“What happened is such a sad, sad event. It’s such a horrible thing and it’s happening all too often and we’re just not gonna let it happen,” Trump stated, cited by The Daily Caller.

“We just can’t. Twenty-one times arrested, this thug, and the person in the car with him was arrested many times and they don’t learn because they don’t respect. They’re [police officers] not given the respect. The police are the greatest people we have. There’s nothing and there’s nobody like them and this should never happen,” the former president added.

While Trump attended the wake, President Joe Biden was engaged in a campaign event at Radio City Music Hall with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, aimed at raising $25 million.

Biden also communicated with Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams to express his condolences regarding Officer Diller’s death.

“We have to get back to law and order, we have to do a lot of things differently,” Trump elaborated.

“Because this is not working. This is happening too often. It’s an honor to be here and again, and I want to just thank all of you folks for allowing this … The only thing we can say is maybe something’s gonna be learned. We’ve got to toughen it up, we’ve gotta strengthen it up. This should never be allowed. Things like this should never take place and to take place so often,” added the 45th president of the United States.

Trump praised the Diller family, acknowledging the challenging journey they face ahead.

“President Trump is moved by the invitation to join NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller’s family and colleagues as they deal with his senseless and tragic death,” said Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign.
