Joe Biden Slammed as ‘Hypocrite’

(DCWatchdog.com) – President Joe Biden has been blasted for being a “hypocrite” as a result of a seeming new public blunder by his team after he was scheduled to speak on gun control shortly after the conviction of his son Hunter Biden on firearms charges.

The conviction early Tuesday created an uneasy contrast with President Joe Biden’s agenda later that day, The Daily Express US points out in a report.

President Biden attended the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund’s “Gun Sense University” where he addressed the gun-reform legislation enacted nearly two years prior, in response to mass shootings in New York and Texas.

This legislation marked the most significant federal gun law changes in almost 25 years.

President Biden has generally refrained from commenting on his son’s federal gun trial.

However, in a recent interview, he stated his respect for the jury’s verdict and his decision not to pardon his son, saying, “I will respect the jury’s decision and would not pardon my son.”

During his speech on Tuesday, Biden did not explicitly mention Hunter’s conviction, yet this did not prevent widespread criticism on social media platform X, where users labeled him a “hypocrite” for advocating stringent measures like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban.

“Liar and hypocrite! Lock Hunter up if you believe your own words!!!” one user emphatically noted.

Earlier on the same day, Biden released a statement post-conviction, emphasizing his dual role as both a father and the President.

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery,” he stated.

“As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal. Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that,” the president declared further.

Hunter was found guilty of all three felony charges concerning his acquisition of a revolver in 2018, where, according to prosecutors, he falsely declared on a required gun-purchase form that he was neither illegally using nor addicted to drugs.
