(DCWatchdog.com) – In a highly justified outburst, presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has launched a pointed critique against Fox News board member and former GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan.
Trump vehemently criticized Ryan on Truth Social, denouncing him as “a very disloyal” individual and attributing a loss of credibility to Fox News due to Ryan’s presence on its board.
“Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“He’s a total lightweight, a failed and pathetic Speaker of the House, and a very disloyal person. Romney was bad, but Paul Ryan made him look worse. As a team, they never had a chance. Rupert and Lachlan, get that dog off your Board – You don’t need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” declared the 45th president of the United States.
In a June 11 interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, Ryan described Trump as “unfit for office.”
Addressing Cavuto’s question about the animosity from viewers who perceive him as manipulative at Fox, Ryan stated he had “been in politics a long time” and was accustomed to criticism with his “really thick skin.”
Ryan, who served as Mitt Romney’s vice-presidential candidate in the 2012 election, remarked during the same interview that President Joe Biden appeared as a “different guy” during their 2012 electoral debates.
Though Ryan supported Trump in his initial presidential campaign in 2016, he expressed a change of heart in early May, opting to support another candidate due to the significance he places on moral character.
He pointedly commented, “Everyone knows we will well lose the election if we nominate this guy again.”
Following these statements, Trump swiftly condemned Ryan on social media, advocating for his dismissal from the Fox News board.
“Rupert Murdoch should fire pathetic RINO Paul Ryan from the Board of Fox. Ryan is a loser, always has been, and always will be,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“He was the WEAKEST & MOST INCOMPETENT Speaker of the House in its History. Fox will sink to the absolute bottom of the pack if Paul Ryan has anything to do with it!” the former president added.
