Illegal Alien Bombshell News

(DCWatchdog.com) – Amid a surge in border crossings under the Biden administration, a new poll showed that most voters support a federal program to deport all illegal aliens residing in the U.S.

According to a CBS News poll conducted from June 5 to June 7, nearly six in ten voters, including a third of Democrats and nine in ten Republicans, back a hypothetical mass deportation effort.

A similarly sized majority favors would be in favor of deploying local law enforcement to try to apprehend illegal immigrants. About half of registered voters think it would be a good idea to build large government detention centers to process illegal aliens for potential deportation.

In addition, former President Donald Trump has campaigned on the promise of expelling a large number of illegal immigrants from the country.

At a Fox News town hall in January, he vowed to create the “largest deportation effort in the history of our country” if he is reelected in November, saying, “We have no choice.”

Trump has also insisted that he will finish the border wall, a project leftover from his first term that Biden discontinued.

In May, Trump pledged to “immediately deport” illegal students who participate in anti-Israel protests amid the chaotic campus demonstrations that had been disrupting academia.

In turn, CBS News host Margaret Brennan seemed shocked by the poll’s results, which showed widespread demand for mass deportations.

“Homeland Security says that President Biden has already deported or repatriated more people in the past year than any year since 2010,” she said. “And then, depending on the details of what’s talked about on the campaign trail, some of what Mr. Trump talks about could be illegal.”

An Axios poll from April similarly found that 51% of Americans (including 42% of Democrats) support mass deportations of illegal aliens.

There was also approval of certain Trump-proposed immigration restrictions, such as eliminating birthright citizenship, which 30% of Democrats and 46% of Republicans oppose.

Moreover, Americans are concerned about illegal immigration primarily because of increased crime and drug trafficking but also because of burdening taxpayers and threatening national security.
