Biden Chickens Out; What’s He Hiding?

(DCWatchdog.com) – The White House rejеcted an offer from House Oversight Committее Chairman James Comer (R., Ky.) to have Joe Biden testify publicly about his family’s foreign business dealings.

White House counsel Richard Sauber wrote a letter to Comer formally declining last month’s offer for Biden to testify as part of the impeachment inquiry into him.

According to a copy of the letter obtained by National Review, Sauber wrote, “Your insistence on peddling these false and unsupported allegations despite ample evidence to the contrary makes one thing about your investigation abundantly clear: The facts do not matter to you.”

“Accordingly, we decline your invitation for President Biden to testify.”

The primary focus of the impеachment inquiry revolved around the Bidеn family’s foreign business dеalings, particularly those that involve one of Biden’s sons, Hunter.

Comer’s request to Biden summarizеd the evidence gathered during the impеachment inquiry, mainly financial records showing that the Biden family received $24 million from foreign sources while Joe Biden was vice president and shortly after he left office.

In March, Hunter Biden refused to appear alongside his former business partners in a public hearing despite previously insisting on a public session. Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis testified publicly and recounted their knowledge of Joe Biden’s apparent involvement in his son’s business ventures.

Bobulinski accused Hunter Biden and his uncle James of lying under oath about their business dealings with Chinese conglomerate CEFC. Likewise, he mentioned a meeting with Joe, Hunter, and James Biden in May 2017 during negotiations with CEFC.

In turn, Galanis alleged that Joe Biden participated in phone calls to assist his son in settling deals with Chinese and Russian business partners. Both provided testimony similar to their earlier private testimony for the impeachment inquiry.

“Like his son, Hunter Biden, President Biden is refusing to testify in public about the Bidens’ corrupt influence peddling,” Comer stated.

The statement continued, “This comes as no surprise since President Biden continues to lie about his relationships with his son’s business partners, even denying they exist when his son said under oath during a deposition that they did.”

Hunter Biden testified behind closed doors for the impeachment inquiry in February and acknowledged that his father met and communicated with his foreign business partners.

However, he dismissed the possibility that Joe Biden had a role in his foreign business dealings and criticized the impeachment inquiry.
