Jaw-Dropping: State of Emergency Declared Over WHAT?

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a highly perplexing move, the Democrat Governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey, has declared an emergency because her state is being overwhelmed by 20,000 illegal immigrants seeking shelter – against the backdrop of some 7 million who have invaded the nation on President Joe Biden’s watch.

“Governor Maura T. Healey today declared that a state of emergency exists in Massachusetts due to rapidly rising numbers of migrant families arriving in Massachusetts in need of shelter and services and a severe lack of shelter availability in the state,” the governor’s office announced in a release.

It informed that “there are currently nearly 5,600 families or more than 20,000 individuals in state shelter, including children and pregnant women.”

“The declaration serves as a notice to the federal government and the Commonwealth that the state’s shelter system is rapidly expanding capacity in an unsustainable manner, and that further assistance is urgently needed,” the release said.

It noted that Healey sent a letter to Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, pointing “to work authorizations as a primary driver of the crisis.”

According to the leftist governor, the solution to the migrant crisis doesn’t lie with securing the border and stopping just about the entire Third World from waltzing into the United States.

Instead, she urged faster federal work authorizations for illegal aliens, more federal funding for rewarding them with free accommodation and meals for invading America, and changing the nation’s “outdated and punitive immigration laws.”

A Fox News report stresses that Massachusetts has become “the latest liberal jurisdiction” to demand federal help to tackle the illegal immigrant surge “despite not being anywhere near the besieged southern border.”

Other Democrat-run jurisdictions that recently issued emergency declarations over a problem that their party and president deliberately created in the first place are New York City, Chicago, and the state of New York.

According to Healey, Massachusetts received 100 illegal immigrant families daily that sought shelter in July alone.

At the same time, the share of migrants leaving state shelters has declined by two-thirds since 2019, and the state is now spending $45 million monthly to house illegal aliens.

“Many of these families are migrants to Massachusetts, drawn here because we are and proudly have been a beacon to those in need,” Healey declared proudly in her letter to Mayorkas.
