Lib Mayor Panics: Illegals Destroying City!

Mayor Eric Adams

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a stunningly ironic turn of events, the Democrat mayor of New York City has hit the panic button, predicting the city will be “destroyed” by illegal aliens while also taking a swipe at the Biden administration.

Over the past year, Mayor Eric Adams has refused to do away with New York City’s status as a “sanctuary city,” i.e., one violating US immigration legislation in favor of illegal aliens.

Yet, during a town hall meeting on Wednesday, the mayor complained the influx of the 110,000 illegal immigrants who have already arrived, with 10,000 more coming each month, would bankrupt NYC.

That would result from local laws requiring housing and government services for everyone regardless of a person’s legal status, The Washington Times reports.

“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City,” Adams said during the town hall on the Upper West Side.

“We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month. One time we were just getting Venezuela, now we’re getting Ecuador, now we’re getting Russian-speaking coming through Mexico, now we’re getting Western Africa, now we’re getting people from all over the globe who have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City,” the mayor revealed, as cited by Breitbart News.

According to the Times, Adams bemoaned “what they’re trying to do to us,” thinly veiled criticism directed at President Joe Biden’s administration.

“Every community in this city is going to be impacted. We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us… It’s going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this… The city we knew, we’re about to lose,” the NYC mayor elaborated.

A commentary by National Review stresses that Adams’ complaints “marked a significant escalation in his rhetoric,” translating into “a new challenge to the Biden administration.”

It adds that Biden has refused to secure the border and failed to provide NYC and other communities with financial support to accommodate the illegal immigrants.
