Senator: ‘I Don’t Even Think It’s a Close Call’

(DCWatchdog.com) – In order to highlight that former President Donald Trump is more than lucid to become the next President of the United States, Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) minimized concerns about Trump’s mental sharpness and criticized Biden’s ability to carry out a second term.

The left-wing anchor of CBS News “Face The Nation”, Margaret Brennan raised the issue of Trump’s recent confusion, where he mixed up former President Obama and Biden while Trump suggested the U.S. troops were in Ukraine.

When questioned about Trump’s mental fitness, Sullivan responded, “Yes, yes. Compared to the current president? 110 percent. And as your polling shows, I think the American people have real concerns [about] where President Biden is with regard to his fitness for office, particularly his mental acuity.”

“And relative to President Biden or relative to former President Trump, I don’t even think it’s a close call when you see the two in action,” he continued.

This is not the first instance of Trump mixing up Obama and Biden’s names, and he previously claimed to have done so sarcastically to highlight the influence of “others” in running the United States.

In turn, both Trump and Biden have faced criticism for verbal slip-ups in recent months and despite being four years younger, Trump has faced unfairly scrutiny after a special counsel report questioned his well-being.

In contrast, the 81-year-old Democrat front-runner is the oldest sitting U.S. president, and if re-elected he would be 86 at the end of his second term.

Ironically, Biden addressed concerns about his age and emphasized the importance of the ideas he brings to the table.

In a recent appearance on NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Biden remarked, “You got to take a look at the other guy, he’s about as old as I am, but he can’t remember his wife’s name.”

This was in reference to Trump’s recent speech where he seemed to confuse Melania Trump with Mercedes Schlapp, wife of American Conservative Union Chair Matt Schlapp and a former aide to Trump.
