VIDEO: White House Lies Again

Joe Biden

(DCWatchdog.com) – As if to properly mark Joe Biden’s 81st birthday, his team has just told the American people a bald-faced lie: namely, that the White House isn’t panicking behind the scenes about the president’s highly advanced age and the tide of public worries about his mental and physical fitness for office.

On Monday, coinciding with the president’s 81st birthday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to play down concerns over his age in a stumbling reply to a reporter’s question.

She firmly dismissed the notion that there is any internal worry within the Democratic Party about this issue.

During the press briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked to comment on statements made by David Axelrod, a former senior advisor to President Obama, who expressed doubts about Biden’s capability to secure a win in the 2024 election due to his age.

“There’s no alarm happening behind the scenes [about the president’s age]. I can only speak behind the scenes here. There’s no alarm happening behind the scenes, and I’m certainly not going to comment on everybody who has something to say,” Jean-Pierre said.

Jean-Pierre continued to advocate for President Biden, highlighting his exceptional energy and stamina.

“I would put him up against anyone,” the White House operative declared.

She further emphasized the significance of the President’s extensive experience rather than his age.

“Our perspective is that it’s not about age, it’s about the President’s experience. That’s what we believe. The President has used his experience to pass more bipartisan legislation in recent time than any other president. That’s just a fact. It’s something that we have seen this president do, and that’s because of his experience. He’s been able to manage multiple foreign policy challenges. That’s because of his experience,” Biden’s aide elaborated.

However, Obama’s strategist Axelrod holds a differing opinion.

“I think he has a 50-50 shot here, but no better than that, maybe a little worse. He thinks he can cheat nature here, and it’s really risky. They’ve got a real problem if they’re counting on Trump to win it for them. I remember Hillary doing that, too,” Axelrod told NYT columnist Maureen Dowd.

Jean-Pierre also lauded President Biden’s handling of national economic challenges over the past three years and his unique visit to an “active war zone without our military.”

“We have to judge him by what he’s done, not by his numbers,” she argued.
