VIDEO: US Senators Attacked

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a dangerous situation exposing the deadly developments in Israel, a bipartisan group of US senators has come under rocket fire by Palestinian Islamist terrorists while visiting the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv, to demonstrate America’s support for the US ally.

The unsettling experience was revealed by Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY), who led the delegation to Israel, including Senators. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), and Mitt Romney (R-UT), The Hill reports, as cited by Newsmax.

“While in Tel Aviv today, our delegation was rushed to a shelter to wait out rockets sent by Hamas. It shows you what Israelis have to go through. We must provide Israel with the support required to defend itself,” Schumer wrote on X.

His post featured a photo of himself and Senator Mitt Romney waiting out the rocket attack in an Israeli bomb shelter.

Invading Southern Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Hamas terrorist group massacred over 1,300 Israeli and foreign civilians, among them two dozen Americans.

The US senators’ mission was to engage in discussions with government representatives and those affected by the intense violence that ignited on October 7, The Hill observes.

However, their visit was disrupted by rocket alerts, which necessitated taking shelter and resulted in a postponed press conference.

“We were having a lunch up in the hotel, and the sirens went off. We heard them, and we were all rushed into a shelter and had to stay there until the coast was clear. And then a few minutes ago, this press conference was delayed for the same reason,” Schumer revealed further.

Israel’s military has responded to the Hamas invasion by killing over 1,500 terrorists on its soil, striking the group’s targets in Gaza, and readying a ground invasion into the tiny but overpopulated enclave.

The US State Department said the terrorists killed 29 Americans. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed 2,329 Palestinian fatalities and around 9,042 injured.

On the Israeli side, over 1,300 died, and some 3,000 were injured during Hamas’ initial onslaught.

Other US lawmakers who recently had to take cover in Israeli bomb shelters due to the terrorists’ rocket fire on Israel are Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), who was with his family, and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ).
