(DCWatchdog.com) – In what might as well be deemed a huge insult, President Donald Trump has slammed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, calling him “a Palestinian” and “not Jewish anymore.”

During a candid exchange in the Oval Office, President Trump tagged Schumer with the contentious label of “Palestinian,” questioning his longstanding support for Israel.

President Trump claimed that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is “not Jewish anymore,” insinuating he has morphed into a “Palestinian” due to his criticism of Israeli policies under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

These remarks came during a meeting with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin in the presence of the Irish prime minister, capturing the world’s attention.

According to Trump, Schumer’s support for Israel seemed to have dwindled, despite the Senate Minority Leader’s initial solidarity following the October 2023 Hamas attacks.

In Trump’s view, Schumer’s critical stance on Netanyahu’s policies has shifted his allegiance away from traditional Jewish support.

Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in American history, initially pledged resources for Israel after the tragic October 7, 2023, attacks, which resulted in around 1,200 deaths.

However, Trump’s criticism focused on Schumer’s later calls for new Israeli elections in March 2024, in which he criticized Netanyahu’s strategies as “dangerous and inflammatory.”

The drama escalated due to Schumer’s opposition to the deportation of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist, which Trump used as a justification for his remarks.

Schumer emphasized due process, insisting on the necessity of criminal charges for justifying Khalil’s detention.

Khalil, a green card holder investigated by ICE for visa issues, becomes emblematic of broader debates on free speech and immigration, which Trump supporters argue have been mishandled by the current administration.

“Schumer is a Palestinian, as far as I’m concerned. He’s become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore. He’s a Palestinian,” Trump declared, cited by The New York Post.

The controversial remarks stirred up concerns, yet they resonated with many American patriots frustrated with what they perceive as Democrat overreach.

Some of Trump’s detractors view his comments as inflammatory rhetoric, while supporters see it as a brazen truth, bringing to light bigger issues facing U.S. foreign policy and governmental accountability.

In the grand scheme of politics, Trump’s outspoken criticism of left-leaning figures confronts bipartisan issues head-on, reflecting the ongoing suspense in U.S. political dynamics.

Schumer’s actions post-Hamas attacks and Trump’s blunt responsiveness exemplify the deeply ingrained divisions present in Congress.
