(DCWatchdog.com) Raise your hand if you believe the $3.5 trillion spending bill the Democrats are trying to pass through Congress so President Joe Biden can sign it into law will not add to the annual deficit or the nation’s ever-growing national debt.
We didn’t think so.
In fact, can you think of any congressional spending bill in recent memory passed by either party when that party was in the majority that did not add to that year’s deficit and the national debt?
Hint: The last time it happened was when President Bill Clinton was in office, and congressional Republicans held his spending feet to the fire – resulting in the first year the national debt didn’t go up since the 1950s.
Yet, that is the claim both Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are trying to convince the American people is valid.
At a press conference just moments ago announcing a new vote scheduled for today to try and raise the national debt ceiling, Pelosi repeated Biden’s claim that the bill currently under consideration costs “zero.”
To be precise, Pelosi stated (watch the video below) about the amount the $3.5 trillion spending bill would add to the deficit and debt: “It’s not about a dollar amount. The dollar amount, as the President says, is zero. This bill will be paid for.”
Please watch the video below of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and then email your thoughts and opinions about her statements to [email protected].
Do you agree or disagree with Pelosi when she says that the $3.5 trillion spending bill “is paid for?” Why or why not?
