Video: More Harsh Words From Trump

Former President Donald J. Trump

(DCWatchdog.com) – In an exclusive interview with Newsmax following his rally in Arizona on Saturday night (watch the video clip further down this post), former President Donald J. Trump had more harsh words for United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican.

After being asked by Newsmax to rate the leadership of the Republican Party, specifically United States House of Representative GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Trump started by saying he’s “been working well with Kevin [McCarthy].”

He then turned his focus and his fire on McConnell:

“He’s a bad leader. He gave them [the Democrats] two months, a two-month stay, two months of adjustment that gave them a power that they should’ve never had. So, I’m not a fan of him, and I think he is hurting the party very badly.”

There’s been no response from McConnell. But, that’s not unusual as McConnell tends to ignore Trump’s attacks and insults.

Several GOP pundits we spoke with find it hard to understand why Trump constantly attacks McConnell. After all, they point out it was McConnell who engineered the conservative takeover of the Supreme Court by denying Barack Obama a final appointment to the Court for almost a year and by pushing through all of Trump’s choices.

Still, the animosity between the two is genuine, and time will tell what, if any, impact it has on the upcoming congressional midterm elections.

Here’s the video.
