Video: Lindsey Graham Slammed for Supreme Court Hearing Behavior

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a sign of how contentious the United States Supreme Court nomination hearings before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee have become, U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat and former chair of the committee, just went before cameras and microphones to slam U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, for the way Graham behaved yesterday during the questioning of Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

You can watch the video of Leahy slamming Graham a bit further down this post.

Graham, who is still angry that the South Carolina judge he wanted President Joe Biden to nominate wasn’t nominated, went on a tirade yesterday and then stormed out of the proceedings in a fashion that stunned many in the gallery.

One observer likened Graham to a three-year-old throwing a temper tantrum for not getting his way.

As you’ll see in the video below, Leahy says of Graham:

“You had a Republican member [Graham] who went way over the time allotted, ignored the rules of the committee, badgered the nominee, would not even let her answer the questions. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve been here 48 years. Here we have a highly respected and respectable nominee. And to be treated that way. I don’t know what the motivation might be, what political motivation there is. But to see the badgering of this woman, as she’s trying to testify, I thought was outrageous.”

Tragically, it seems the once dignified United States Senate is anything but dignified these days, and it may never recover.
