VIDEO: GOP Demands Garland, Wray Testify about Trump Raid

Jim Jordan

( – The Republican Party is demanding that President Joe Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Director of the FBI Christopher Wray publicly explain Monday’s raid by the agency of former President Donald Trump’s home in Palm Springs, Florida.

The Republicans have called upon Garland and Wray to testify about the search before the US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee.

In the first raid of its kind in the history of the United States, more than 30 FBI agents combed through Trump’s residence, reportedly to seek out White House documents that he may have taken with him after the end of his presidential term.

Liberal pundits and Democrat politicians have celebrated the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Breitbart News reported.

However, it has been overwhelmingly denounced by the Republicans, who saw it as an effort to use law enforcement to crack down on the opposition and a person who is a presumed leading presidential bidder in the next election.

Experts have described the FBI search as “excessive” regardless of whether it had a legitimate cause. GOP critics have complained that the homes of Democrat-related figures who may have committed misconduct – such as First Son Hunter Biden – have never been raided by federal authorities.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, urged Garland and Wray to appear before the committee on Friday to give the public an explanation of the Mar-a-Lago raid.

You can watch a video of Jordan further down this post.

“Merrick Garland, Chris Wray, come to the House Judiciary Committee this Friday and answer our questions about this action today, which has never happened in American history. … Why not talk to President Trump and have him give the information that you’re after?” Jordan said on Fox News.

“This is unbelievable, and understand the history here: One year ago, it was Merrick Garland using the Patriot Act against parents. One day ago, it was 87,000 agents in a bill the Democrats passed to harass Americans from the IRA. And today, we have the raid of a former president’s home? In America? So — heck, we deserve answers now, and this Friday would be a good time,” the Ohio Congressman elaborated.

The final decision to ask Garland and Wray to testify before the House Judiciary Committee would have to be made by its Democrat chairman, Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York.
