(DCWatchdog.com) – Former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney has attacked former President Donald Trump as a “coward” in a campaign advertisement video to support the reelection campaign of his daughter, Wyoming U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney.

Liz Cheney has been the most outspoken anti-Trump Republican and a member of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 select committee. Trump has described her as one of the main RINOs (“Republican in Name Only”).
With just days left before the GOP primary in Wyoming, Liz Cheney is trailing Trump’s pick, Harriet Hageman, by more than 20 points.
The minute-long video in which Dick Cheney, the Vice President for President George W. Bush for eight years, is promoting his daughter was posted on Liz Cheney’s Twitter profile.
“In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election with lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him,” the former vice president declared.
“He is a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters. He lost his election, and he lost big. I know it, he knows it, and deep down, I think most Republicans know it,” Cheney added in his scathing attack on Trump.
“Lynn and I are so proud of Liz for standing up for the truth and doing what’s right. Liz is fearless. She never backs down from a fight, and there is nothing more important she will ever do than make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office,” Dick Cheney concluded as he touted his daughter’s reelection candidacy.
The appearance of the 81-year-old Cheney in a special promotional video seems like part of a final push by Liz Cheney to catch up with her rival Hageman.
According to a poll from late July by the Casper-Star Tribune and Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, Hageman enjoyed the support of 52% of the Republican voters in Wyoming, while Liz Cheney received only 30%.
Adverse reactions on Twitter to the Dick Cheney video brought up his participation in the Iraq War started by Bush.
“Isn’t your dad a war criminal?” one Twitter user replied to the video.
Rep. Liz Cheney is one of the ten House Republicans who, in January 2021, voted to impeach President Donald Trump over the January 6 events at the U.S. Capitol.
