VIDEO: ‘Cheering At Mar-A-Lago’

DONALD TRUMP

(DCWatchdog.com) – In an intriguing observation, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany declared there is “cheering at Mar-A-Lago,” as Donald Trump and his campaign are overjoyed over Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

McEnany articulated on Tuesday her belief that Donald Trump, the former President, is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to critique the vice-presidential selection of Kamala Harris, specifically pointing to the liberal tendencies of the chosen candidate.

During a segment on “America’s Newsroom,” McEnany suggested that Trump’s camp likely feels vindicated by Harris’ choice, given the progressive nature of the nominee’s political stances, which she argues veer significantly leftward from mainstream American views.

McEnany shared her thoughts on the selection, implying a positive reception among Trump’s supporters due to Walz’s political evolution.

“This is a stunning choice. I imagine there’s a lot of cheering at Mar-a-Lago at the moment. Look, Tim Walz, he’s no one to scoff out. He unseated a six-term Republican in Congress … He began as a moderate. And then he had a radical transformation as soon as he got a trifecta in Minnesota,” McEnany stated, cited by The Daily Caller.

She further elaborated on Walz’s political record, which includes highly progressive policies.

“I think it is fair to call him a progressive in sheep’s clothing. When you look at his record over the last few years, what you see are transgender surgeries for minors, carbon electrical grid by 2040, driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants. In function, his abortion policy allows abortion until birth,” the former White House press secretary elaborated.

She posited that Walz’s progressive policies starkly contrast with the more moderate stance Harris appears to be aiming for.

“These are policies that are far to the left of America … Kamala Harris has to do the exact opposite of what Tim Walz did,” she explained.

“Tim Walz became more progressive. Kamala Harris is trying to become more moderate. But Republicans are going to say, ‘you’ve shed all your progressive policies, but yet you chose a progressive,’” McEnany said.

The conversation around Harris’ vice-presidential pick also considered other candidates, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who was seen as a major contender.

Notably, Shapiro’s Jewish identity and the potential reluctance within the Democratic campaign to field a ticket comprising two minority candidates was a point of discussion among strategists and observers.
