(DCWatchdog.com) – Yesterday, as the stock markets in the United States suffered one of the worst days in years because of persistently high inflation, President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) went to the South Lawn of the White House to brag about the economy and about a bill he and the Democrats passed to fight inflation.
Meanwhile, even CNN had to admit while Biden spoke that the markets were imploding.
You can watch the two video clips of what happened further down this post.
First, Pelosi, while introducing Biden, said, “Mr. President, thank you for unifying and inspiring a vision of a stronger, fairer, safer future for all, for our children. Your extraordinary leadership has made this glorious day possible.”
Then, because no one in the audience applauded, Pelosi added, “That’s an applause line.”

Then as Biden spoke, CNN noted that while he and the Democrats were celebrating passing and enacting the “Inflation Reduction Act,” “There is this unfortunate split screen right now with the Dow taking a total beating, down more than 1200 points. And so it feels like it’s hard to be celebratory for some people in the crowd.”
Here is the video clip of CNN speaking over Biden and noting that the markets were dropping like a rock as he spoke.
