(DCWatchdog.com) – President Joe Biden, who is going to be 80 in less than a month, has admitted his age is a “legitimate concern” and even that he could “get a disease” and “drop dead tomorrow.”
In a new TV interview, Biden argued he was “physically and mentally” healthy and fit for the president of the United States job while joking it was hard for him to say the word “eighty.”

In the interview aired on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show,” the Democrat president was questioned by host Jonathan Capehart while they were walking on the Delaware State University Campus.
Capehart even stopped the interview to phone his “Aunt Gloria,” a Biden supporter worried about the president’s advanced age.
“[Aunt Gloria] was your biggest fan in 2020, ’cause she said, “Gonna need an old white dude to take on an old white dude,” the MSNBC host said, leading Biden to react with laughter.
Capehart said his aunt believed Biden should unconditionally run for reelection if former President Donald Trump ran – but if he didn’t, she would “be sure” because of Biden’s age.
“Let’s say Trump doesn’t run again. Convince Aunt Gloria that she should stick with you?” the interviewer asked.
“I think it’s a legitimate thing to be concerned about, anyone’s age, including mine. I think that’s totally legitimate,” Biden responded.
He then reiterated his main argument in favor of his fitness for office that his appearance and activity speak for themselves.
“I think the best way to make a judgment is to, you know, watch me. You know, am I slowing up? Am I… don’t have the same pace? Or, you know, and that old joke, you know – everybody talks about the new, you know, 70s, 50s, you know, all that stuff,” Biden said.
“I am a big respecter of fate. I could get a disease tomorrow. I could drop dead tomorrow,” the president admitted.
“But I, you know, in terms of my energy level, in terms of how much I am able to do, I think people should look and say, ‘Does he still have the same for what he’s doing?’ If they think I do, and I can do it, then it is fine,” Biden elaborated.
At that point, his tongue slipped that those who consider him unfit for office should “vote against” him – before he corrected himself to say that they should discourage him from running for reelection.
“If they don’t, then they should vote against me – not against me, they should encourage me not to go, but that is not how I feel,” the president declared, adding that if that were the cause with “Aunt Gloria” that she should vote for “some other Democrat.”
However, Biden still sought to convince the voter that he was perfectly fit for office, including with respect to his mental and cognitive health.
“Right now, knock on wood, I do not want to jinx myself, I am in good health. All of my- everything physically about me is still functioning well, so you know, and mentally too, so,” the president stated.
“I can’t even say the age I am going to be. I can’t even get it out of my mouth,” Biden joked, grabbing the surprised host by the shoulders.
