(DCWatchdog.com) – In a potentially disastrous flaw in America’s voting system raising once again fears about election fairness, large numbers of mail-in ballots have been misdelivered across state lines.
Election officials across the country decry the United States Postal Service’s failures, as states receive ballots meant for other jurisdictions.
The situation raises dire questions about electoral integrity and voter disenfranchisement.
Election administrator Terry Thompson in Cascade County, Montana, sounded the alarm when ballots from Alaska, Washington, and Florida landed on his desk.
This mishap must cause unease among patriots who value their vote.
With even more out-of-state ballots reported in California, Louisiana, and New Mexico, there’s no denying systemic inadequacies, reports The Sun Sentinel.
The problem isn’t confined to Montana. Several states including California, Louisiana, and New Mexico have confirmed misdirected ballots arriving at their election offices.
In Louisiana alone, officials received 40 to 50 ballots intended for other states.
Voter security remains a top concern, especially given Louisiana’s preference for in-person voting over mail-in ballots.
“The United States Postal Service is fully committed to fulfilling our role in the electoral process when policy makers choose to utilize us as a part of their election system, and to delivering election mail in a timely manner,” commented Rod Spurgeon, a strategic communications specialist from the U.S. Postal Service.
New Mexico experienced setbacks when ballots meant for Santa Fe County were sent to Los Angeles County, missing critical election deadlines.
This failure of the postal system is not just an inconvenience but raises concern about the potential disenfranchisement of voters.
In California, about 150 ballots from Oregon were inadvertently delivered, and Illinois found itself with a Massachusetts ballot, ABC News reports.
Amy Cohen, director at the National Association of State Election Directors, expressed how “disappointing and heartbreaking” these incidents are.
She urged the USPS to rectify the issues to avoid future discrepancies.
Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab echoed these sentiments, recommending voters avoid mailing their ballots unless absolutely necessary.
Despite these glaring issues, Mark Dimondstein of the American Postal Workers Union insists that vote-by-mail was successful.
State election officials had previously voiced concerns over USPS inefficiencies impacting voters’ rights during presidential elections.
With these revelations, it’s clear why patriots are skeptical of mail-in voting’s reliability. Government systems must be held accountable to ensure every vote legitimately counts.
