(DCWatchdog.com) – In another one of his audacious acts reversing Joe Biden’s injustices, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to reinstate military members dismissed for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, restoring over 8,000 individuals to their former ranks.

This move not only reaffirms Trump’s campaign promises but also counters the controversial policies of the Biden administration that led to these dismissals.
The president issued the order late Monday night as he flew back to the nation’s capital from the House GOP retreat in Florida.
Trump’s executive order takes a firm stand against the COVID-19 vaccine mandates implemented during the Biden administration, ensuring the return of service members discharged between 2021 and 2023 for their vaccination status.
These military personnel will receive back pay, and their original ranks will be reinstated, correcting what many see as an overreach by government health policies.
The Secretary of Defense has been directed to reinstate these service members, emphasizing Trump’s commitment to fulfilling his inauguration promise.
Many discharged individuals previously received general or other-than-honorable discharges, negatively impacting their veterans’ benefits.
Trump aims to rectify this issue through his executive order.
Over 8,000 service members faced discharge under the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, with only 43 choosing to return after the mandate’s repeal in 2023.
This executive order, reported by Fox News, represents one of several decisive actions by Trump in his first week back in office, reflecting his dedication to a government that prioritizes individual liberties over blanket mandates.
“The Executive Order directs the Secretary of Defense to reinstate all members of the military (active and reserve) who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine and who request to be reinstated,” states a White House fact sheet.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has affirmed support for the reinstatement, detailing promises of full apologies, back pay, and restoration of ranks for the affected troops.
Trump’s bold action serves as a correction to what he views as a grave injustice under Biden’s policies, further fueled by Republicans’ criticisms of the mandates, which were deemed coercive.
“In President Trump’s Defense Department, they will be apologized to, they will be reinstituted (sic) with pay and rank,” declared Pete Hegseth, confirming the administration’s stance and actions.
The COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which affected military personnel and federal employees under the previous administration, led to heated debates regarding medical autonomy.
Trump’s order counters these past policies, advocating for personal choice and freedom within the armed forces, earning him praise from his conservative base.
