Trump UNLEASHES – New Indictment?!

DONALD TRUMP

(DCWatchdog.com) – Given that a recent United States Supreme Court decision called the entire criminal case against former President Donald Trump into question, Trump lashed out at Special Counsel Jack Smith for obtaining a superseding grand jury indictment against him.

Smith’s move essentially repeats the same four charges Trump originally faced in connection to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

In a Truth Social post, Trump slammed the updated indictment, labeling it an attempt by Smith to revive “a dead” witch hunt. He argued that the new charges had “all the problems of the old indictment” and insisted that it “should be dismissed.”

This reaction came after a Washington, D.C. grand jury returned the superseding indictment, which included charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Trump wrote:

“In an effort to resurrect a ‘dead’ Witch Hunt in Washington, D.C., in an act of desperation, and in order to save face, the illegally appointed ‘Special Counsel’ Deranged Jack Smith, has brought a ridiculous new Indictment against me, which has all the problems of the old Indictment, and should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY.”

Trump also pointed out that Smith’s “Florida Document Hoax Case” had been dismissed, calling the new indictment “an attempt to interfere with the election.”

Back in July, a Florida judge dismissed a documents case against the former president, ruling that Smith’s appointment was neither constitutional nor lawful.

Trump continued, “This is merely an attempt to INTERFERE WITH THE ELECTION, and distract the American People from the catastrophes Kamala Harris has inflicted on our Nation, like the Border Invasion, Migrant Crime, Rampant Inflation, the threat of World War III, and more.”

Furthermore, the four charges in the superseding indictment are the same ones Smith initially brought against Trump.

However, certain aspects of the indictment were revised following the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity in July.

In a court document, Smith explained, “The superseding indictment, which was presented to a new grand jury that had not previously heard evidence in this case, reflects the Government’s efforts to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s holdings and remand instructions in Trump v. United States.”
