This ambitious pipeline could transform North America’s energy landscape if Trump’s calls are heeded.

Former President Trump has not shied away from expressing his strong desire to see the resurrection of the Keystone XL Pipeline project.

His recent remarks highlight a fervent push to have the pipeline, which was stopped by former President Biden on his first day in office, back on the agenda.

Trump has emphasized how this project would not only create thousands of jobs for Americans but also advance energy self-sufficiency by reducing reliance on imports.

The pipeline’s original intent was clear: to transport oil from Alberta, Canada, down to the Gulf Coast for refining.

Designed to carry up to 830,000 barrels of oil per day, its potential economic impact was enormous.

According to the Department of Energy, the Keystone XL Pipeline might have generated between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs, equating to a $3.4 billion to $9.6 billion boost for the economy.

Yet, Biden’s executive order led to its abrupt halt.

Despite obstacles, Trump’s determination to see the pipeline built has not waned.

Trump lambasted the Biden administration’s decision to ax the project, urging TC Energy to resume construction.

TC Energy had previously committed to halting the project but heard Trump’s calls not just as rhetoric but as an offer to streamline the necessary processes for immediate action.

Alberta’s premier also expressed interest in discussing reopening plans with the Trump team, Fox News reports.

“Joe Biden’s action cost tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars and every American family is still paying more every day,” noted Daniel Turner, the founder and executive director of Power the Future.

He emphasizes the financial burden the current administration’s policies have placed on American families.

Critics of Biden’s move highlight these economic costs and the missed opportunity for energy independence, something the Keystone project aimed to address.

Environmental and Indigenous groups staunchly opposed the pipeline, raising concerns about potential spills and increased greenhouse gases.

Despite these hurdles, Trump insists on the importance of the project.

His promise includes “easy approvals” and an almost immediate start, reflecting an administration eager to prioritize energy infrastructure.

While critics remain vocal, supporters argue that the pipeline’s revival aligns with Trump’s vision of reducing American reliance on oil from hostile nations.

TC Energy maintains that sourcing from Canada strengthens North American energy ties, a strategic move in today’s global economy.
