Trump Attacks Nikki’s Husband?! (Video)

(DCWatchdog.com) – More heat has flared up in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination between Donald Trump and his last remaining competitor, Nikki Haley, as the former president has wondered publicly about the whereabouts of his opponent’s military husband.

Speaking at a rally in Conway, South Carolina, his competitor’s home state, the former president wondered where Haley’s husband was.

Trump made pointed comments about Haley, recounting an encounter with the ex-Governor of South Carolina at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

“Then she comes over to see me at Mar-a-Lago. ‘Sir, I will never run against you.’ She brought her husband. Where’s your husband? Oh, he’s away,” the former president said.

“He’s away. What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone! He knew. He knew,” Trump added.

Maj. Michael Haley, a commissioned South Carolina National Guard officer, is presently engaged in a year-long mission with the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in the Horn of Africa.

Since June 2023, he has been deployed in the African nation of Djibouti, The New York Post notes in a report.

In response to Trump’s comments, Haley defended her husband’s commitment to service during a campaign event in Gilbert, South Carolina.

“I am proud of Michael’s service. Every military spouse knows it’s a family sacrifice… If you mock the service of a combat veteran, you don’t deserve a driver’s license, let alone being president of the United States,” the former South Carolina governor and US ambassador said.

“Donald, if you have something to say, don’t say it behind my back. Get on a debate stage and say it to my face,” she stated, as cited by NBC News.

She blasted the former president further in a social media post.

“Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about. Someone who continually disrespects the sacrifices of military families has no business being commander in chief,” Haley tweeted.

Her husband, Michael Haley, indirectly commented on the situation, addressing Trump in a tweet that contained a meme.

“The difference between humans and animals? Animals would never allow the dumbest ones to lead the pack,” the meme said.
