(DCWatchdog.com) – U.S. Secret Service agents enraged a beauty salon owner when she discovered they had taped over a security camera and broke into her business in Massachusetts to use the bathroom before a Kamala Harris fundraiser.

Alicia Powers, owner of Four One Three Salon in Pittsfield, explained that she closed her salon on July 27 because the Secret Service requested it. The salon is located behind the Colonial Theatre, where Harris was speaking.
Earlier that week, agents had visited her salon for a security check, but she did not expect them to return after she had locked up.
“They had a bunch of people in and out of here doing a couple of bomb sweeps again — totally understand what they have to do, due to the nature of the situation,” Powers said. “And at that point, my team felt like it was a little bit chaotic, and we just made the decision to close for Saturday.”
The salon owner shared security footage showing a Secret Service agent approaching the door with tape and using a chair to cover the camera lens.
Moreover, another video from inside the salon shows several emergency medical and law enforcement personnel entering. One of them even seems to take something small from Powers’ desk.
For nearly two hours, multiple people entered without the owner’s permission, all while the salon’s security alarm blared in the background. Powers said she found the door unlocked and the tape still on the camera when she returned.
“There were several people in and out for about an hour-and-a-half — just using my bathroom, the alarms going off, using my counter, with no permission,” she stated.
Later, an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) worker informed her that the Secret Service agent securing the area “was telling people to come in and use the bathroom.”
Powers felt “violated” by the incident and said that they did not even have the audacity to ask for permission; they just helped themselves by doing whatever they wanted inside her salon.
Over a week after the incident, the head of the Secret Service’s Boston field office called Powers to apologize.
She added that the person she spoke with offered to pay for cleaning the salon, cover the day’s alarm bill, and visit the shop to apologize in person.
