(DCWatchdog.com) – In a new sickening testimony to the far left’s utter absence of basic morals, “Squad” House Democrats disgraced themselves even further by calling for de-escalation after the horrifyingly sadistic invasion of Israel by Palestinian Islamist terrorists from the Hamas group.
Members of the radical left “Squad” in Congress, a group of eight lawmakers led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), have reacted to the deadly invasion with ceasefire calls just as Israel had launched a vast counter-offensive.
Their statements invited “massive backlash from conservatives online,” Fox News reports.
Some 1,000 Israelis and foreigners, including some US citizens, have been killed after the terrorists’ surprise attack out of the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning. About 700 people remain missing, with many likely kidnapped by the invaders.
The report points out that US Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has kept quiet on the attack against Israel, but “Squad queen” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) issued a statement demanding a “ceasefire and de-escalation.”
“Today is devastating for all those seeking a lasting peace and respect for human rights in Israel and Palestine. I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms,” she stated.
“No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region. An immediate ceasefire and de-escalation is urgently needed to save lives,” AOC added.
Another Squad figure, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), stated, “Such senseless violence will only repeat the back and forth cycle we’ve seen.”
“We need to call for deescalation and ceasefire. I will keep advocating for peace and justice throughout the Middle East,” she said.
These statements infuriated Republicans, such as South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace, who called AOC a “Hamas apologist.”
“Hamas apologist asking for ‘ceasefire’ after one side launches a massive terrorist attack. Nice try,” Mace wrote on X.
Conservative commentator John Hasson blasted Omar for only denouncing violence against civilians but not the attacks against Israel as a whole.
“Notice how she only condemns the acts against ‘children, women, the elderly, and the unarmed. She’s implying that attacking/killing IDF forces is fine,” Hasson wrote.
“The squad telling Israel to stand down after it was attacked and hundreds of its citizens were massacred. Incredible,” declared conservative commentator known online as Comfortably Smug.
