(DCWatchdog.com) – Less than an hour after Kamala Harris had her first face-to-face debate with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, her campaign team started pushing for a second round.
See the tweet below.
“That was fun. Let’s do it again in October,” Harris campaign communications director Brian Fallon posted on X.
The Harris campaign also sent out a press release calling for an October debate.
“Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?” asked Harris-Walz campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon.
In turn, O’Malley Dillon did not hold back when he criticized Trump’s performance. “Donald Trump was totally incoherent. He was angry and rattled,” she said, pointing to his answers on abortion, January 6th, and Project 2025.
Michael Tyler, Harris’ communications director, claimed that they are already planning for a mid-October debate.
“We certainly want another debate in October,” he said, adding that “initial conversations about a second debate” are already underway.
Furthermore, Trump has accepted an invitation from NBC News for a September 25th debate, though Harris has not confirmed her participation yet.
Trump also agreed to a September 4th debate on Fox News, which was styled as a town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, after Harris declined the network’s initial invite.
Senior Trump campaign adviser Danielle Alvarez stated that he has already accepted an NBC debate and a Fox debate, while Harris had not accepted prior debates.
Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign spokeswoman, stated that Trump’s team would “absolutely” be interested in an October debate with Harris. She also highlighted the September 25th debate that is already on the books.
Tuesday night, Fox News reiterated its offer to host another presidential debate between Harris and Trump.
The network sent a letter to both campaigns, citing its high ratings, “capabilities and reputation,” and suggesting a format similar to the ABC News debate and Trump’s June forum with Joe Biden.
