Senator Exposes The Truth About Biden

President Joe Biden

(DCWatchdog.com) – Republican Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas blamed President Joe Biden for rising fuel prices, despite Biden calling soaring gas prices “Putin’s price hike.”

Marshall agrees with Biden’s statements that Americans will experience more pain at the pump following the President’s Tuesday announcement that the U.S. will be banning Russian oil and gas.

Although Marshall was among many Senators urging Biden to stop using Russian oil, he noted the skyrocketing gas prices were avoidable if Biden embraced domestic oil and gas production.

According to a report by Fox News Digital, the Kansas Senator said the “25 to 50 cent hike has been created by Joe Biden because he made us depend upon Russian oil.” He continued his remarks saying the U.S. was “funding that darn war over there,” adding that the “short term solution” would be to “give American energy certainty, and they will go to work.”

As the national gas price average rises above $4 per gallon, the highest gas prices since the 2008 financial crisis and the highest average price on record, Biden announced a ban on Russian oil imports.

The ban follows bipartisan pressure to punish Russia for invading Ukraine.

But Biden believes his policies, which include freezing new oil and gas permits for federal land, are not to blame for increasing gas prices. However, many believe his policies hindered domestic oil production.

Emphasizing that 90% of domestic oil production happens on non-federal lands, Biden said Tuesday, “It’s simply not true that my administration or policies are holding back domestic energy production.”

He then compared oil production under his administration to former President Trump’s administration.

“Even amid the pandemic, companies in the United States pump more oil during my first year in office than they did during my predecessor’s first year,” adding that “We’re approaching record levels of oil and gas production in the United States.”

Marshall continued his stance on banning Russian oil imports, saying, “The No.1 sanction we could put on Putin’s war is to sanction his oil,” something he acknowledged Americans are willing to do. However, he reiterated claims that Biden’s hindering domestic production was to blame for rising prices, adding that Americans will “realize that Joe Biden has created this dependence” before calling the skyrocketing fuel prices “another tax on hardworking Americans.”
