(DCWatchdog.com) – Many Americans remember Mark McCloskey as the attorney who received international attention back in 2020 when he and his wife, Patricia, brandished firearms against protesters who were marching past their Missouri home and threatening to come on their property.
Prosecutors charged the McCloskeys with unlawful use of a weapon, a felony. They ended up pleading guilty to misdemeanors and were later pardoned by Missouri Governor Mike Parson.
Now Mark McCloskey is running for the United States Senate, and he recently appeared on Newsmax.
McCloskey made numerous statements that resonated well with conservatives and angered liberals during his appearance.
You can watch either a short clip or the entire interview further down this post.
According to McCloskey, the “Defund the Police” movement has caused a lack of respect for police in the United States of America.
“The problem is that we have a lack of respect for the law. We have a lack of respect for the police. We have a war on police going on in this country.”

Do you are or disagree with McCloskey when he says, “The problem is that we have a lack of respect for the law. We have a lack of respect for the police. We have a war on police going on in this country”? Is he right or wrong to blame the Defund the Police movement for the lack of respect for the law and the police he believes are rampant in the United States?
