(DCWatchdog.com) – In a startlingly bizarre new admission by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate has confessed to dumping a dead bear in Central Park after abandoning a plan to skin and eat the meat of the animal.

Kennedy admitted to being implicated in an incident from a decade ago, where a dead bear cub was abandoned in Central Park, in a video featuring sitcom actress Roseanne Barr.
This admission came in anticipation of an exposé by the New Yorker magazine, The New York Post reports.
In a video shared on social media, Kennedy, aged 70, detailed how he and a group of friends, influenced by alcohol, decided to place the dead bear in the park to simulate an accident involving a bicycle.
Kennedy clarified that he was sober at the time, having decided to place an old bicycle, which he was supposed to dispose of, next to the dead animal. This act coincided with a period when local biking accidents were prominent in the news.
“Everybody thought that’s a great idea. So we went and did that and thought it would be amusing for whoever found it.”
The incident sparked significant media attention in 2014 when a woman discovered the bear concealed under some bushes with a bicycle partly covering it.
The bear was identified as a cub in various reports, though Kennedy referred to it as “a young bear.”
Reflecting on the aftermath, Kennedy recalled the intense police and media reaction.
“I turned on the TV and there was like a mile of yellow tape, and there were 20 cop cars. There were like helicopters flying over it. And I was like ‘Oh, my God, what did I do?’”
His concern was heightened by the fact that his fingerprints were on the bicycle, although the story eventually subsided.
The strange discovery initially confused and horrified local residents.
Kennedy shared that he encountered the dead bear during an early morning trip to Goshen, New York, for falconing, after a bear was struck and killed by a vehicle.
“So I pulled over and I picked up the bear and put him in the back of my van because I was going to skin the bear and it was very good condition and I was going to put the meat in my refrigerator,” he said.
He intended to legally tag the bear as roadkill and utilize the meat.
However, due to delays during his falconing excursion and subsequent commitments in New York City, Kennedy found himself with the bear still in his van.
This led to his impulsive decision to leave the bear in Central Park, which he attributed to his “redneck” tendencies. He also anticipated negative coverage of this revelation in the media.
In the context of his presidential campaign, Kennedy is currently polling at 5.5%, significantly trailing former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, who are at 44.6% and 44.8%, respectively, according to the latest RealClearPolitics national polling aggregate.
This represents a drop from his previous standing at 8.7% in the polls.
