At 44, Levy faces personal and legal turbulence, reflecting on how celebrity life isn’t as glamorous as the media portrays.
William Levy, a prominent Cuban-American actor, was arrested in Southern Florida on April 14, 2025, for disorderly public intoxication and trespassing.
The arrest occurred in Weston, exposing the shadows beneath Levy’s shining television career.
Known for his roles in popular Spanish-language telenovelas and as a finalist on the 2012 season of Dancing with the Stars, Levy’s arrest has captured widespread attention.
Levy’s booking took place at Broward County’s Main Jail, with his bond set at $500.
His representatives and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office have been contacted for comments. Following his arrest, the seasoned actor was released the following morning after posting a $250 bond.
Years of high acclaim as a television star perhaps painted a different image from Levy’s personal struggles.
This arrest follows a year after a domestic dispute with his former partner, fellow actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez. Past police reports indicate a history of domestic disputes, with Gutiérrez raising alarms over Levy’s drinking habits.
“We are all suffering, but the ones who suffer the most are my children. I’ve tried to stay silent for their sake, but there comes a point where I can no longer allow this defamation to continue,” Levy has said.
In response to accusations, Levy has publicly denied any wrongdoing, framing the claims as defamation.
He stresses that his children’s well-being remains his top concern, attempting to distance them from public drama.
Despite his turbulent personal life, Levy maintains a strong media presence, recently celebrating his son’s recognition as Southern Florida’s Sports Illustrated Player of the Week.
After his successful run on Dancing With the Stars, Levy’s Hollywood journey included appearances in “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” and “Girls Trip.”
Additionally, he made headlines for his starring role and production work in the Telemundo series “Vuelve a mí.”
Levy’s career in the spotlight started back in 2006, with his breakout role in the Univision hit “Olvidarte Jamás.”
“I always bet on my relationship. I loved William, I think it’s no secret that he was the love of my life as I always bet and wanted to show us as we were,” said Elizabeth Gutiérrez.
Levy and Gutiérrez’s relationship, starting in 2003, ended in 2024 amid reports of domestic disturbances.
