Poll: Should ‘Assault Weapons’ Be Banned?

Predictably, many Democrats are already calling for a ban on “assault weapons” after yesterday’s shooting in Boulder, Colorado. Most Republicans believe the 2nd Amendment protects the ownership of all personal firearms.

(We note that Congress has never been able to define what “assault weapons” are to the satisfaction of most Americans)

But, it’s your opinion that matters. Should so-called “assault weapons” be banned?

Let’s see here…….if we are going to consider guns as assault weapons, what about bow and arrows? a hammer? a screw driver? a car or truck? how about a really heavy lamp? All of these items and more could be used to kill people and have been used to kill people. It is not the guns that are the problem. Trust me. We have over 393 million fire arms in this country. Guns are not the problem. It is selective use of our gun laws that is the problem. This latest shooting in Colorado being a prime example. The shooter NEVER should have passed that background check to begin with. The Government agency that was watching him should have flagged his file that he was not mentally stabile. Look at Chicago who takes away the citizens guns. That should be the safest place in the U.S. Like I said “guns are not the problem.” People are!

ALL ASSAULT WEAPONS SHOULD BE BANNED. I have never seen one sold in the gun shops or stores that sell guns. I shot Armalite Vietnam issue M 16 and wonder why would anyone want an assault weapon? On automatic they are exceedingly hard to control as they climb. One can never accurately hit the target. It is a spray and pray thing and wastes a lot of rounds. Why would anyone want and assault weapon. My dream gun if I could afford it would be a commercial AR 15 with a 20 round mag. 30 rounds are too heavy for me. They are light and accurate and darn fun and easy to shoot. Yes assault weapons should be banned I can’t see the logic of owning a 50 cal. Can’t go hunting with it or shoot an intruder. Speaking about hard to control. Don’t think we women can handle a 50 cal.
