Newt Gingrich Blasts Andrew Cuomo

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called Monday on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign after an ex-Trump official said that the state “stonewalled” Justice Department investigators seeking information on nursing home deaths,” according to The Washington Times.

“‘That’s explicitly obstruction. It is a crime,’ the Republican Gingrich said on Fox News. ‘At a minimum, he has to resign. At a maximum, he has to be I think indicted.’ [emphasis added]

His comments came after John Daukas, who served last year as acting U.S. assistant attorney general for the Justice Department Civil Rights Division, said that the Cuomo administration may have committed federal criminal offenses by failing to cooperate with a request for state nursing home data. [emphasis added]

Mr. Daukas said in a Sunday op-ed for the Wall Street Journal that the division began investigating New York in August over Mr. Cuomo’s claims that his state’s nursing home deaths from the novel coronavirus were lower than those of most states.

“A month later, the department received data from New York that showed reported deaths from government-run senior long-term care facilities, which account for less than 5% of the state total, were a third higher than previously reported.

  1. Jan says:

He regularly threatens to destroy reporters and politicians that he doesn’t like. He’s mentally deranged. He’ll never resign because he’s too power-hungry and narcissistic. He needs to be impeached and removed from office. However, I don’t think there’s a way to recall a governor in NYS.

  2. JJ Johnson says:

No, he should not resign, he should be IMPEACHED, so he can never again run for any political office. Then, he MUST be indicted and pay for not only THIS crime, but his many others, as well.

  3. CJ says:

This guy is a mass murderer. He is responsible for the deaths of all those seniors. Impeachment and resignation is not good enough for him. But, nothing will happen to him. It will go the same way all those other democrate criminals. A big fat

  4. Don J says:

Cuomo should not be forced to resign, he should be impeached, aressted, tried and convicted forthwith for his crimes against humanity. New York was given plenty of medical aid and support by the federal government during the early days of the pandemic; but Cuomo deigned to fully utilize the temporary hospital at the Javits Center and refused to use the floating hospital at all; instead he released COVID-19 patients into nursing homes throughout NYC and caused the deaths of over 1000 nursing home residents simply to show his disdain for former President Trump.
He then forced his staff to cover his misdeeds up for fear that Trump would “blow it up on Twitter”.

  5. JoAnn D'Antonio says:

Yes. Cuomo should resign and he should be indicted along with anyone else that helped him. I also think that Main Stream Media, Big Tech and the Democratic Party needs to be investigated as well for helping him to cover it up and lie about it. They all owe Donald Trump a huge apology.

    • Pattyanne says:

      To JoAnn:

No one owes Donald Trump an apology for anything! He is the one that owes everyone in America an apology. Nevermind Andrew Cuomo’s trying to step-in
where he thought he could help. Everyone knew Trump didn’t have a clue, nor would he listen to anybody with medical knowledge or training. If Trump had done what he was elected to do, nobody additionally would have had to step in the fray. Let’s face it, Trump was a ” hot mess”in everything that mattered.

  6. Teal Tiki says:

I have called him a CRIMINAL along with biden since he killed thousands of people in giving them no choice but to go into nursing homes and denying use of the hospital ship Trump sent his way. He was proud to tell everyone how Trump was so wrong in his suggested handling of the virus, instead because of his HUGE ego he thought killing them off was easier. I had no families there but I am truly shocked that as a governor he had a responsibility to protect his citizens, he chose not to.

  7. There are a lot of good people in NY. However, their politicians leave a lot to be desired.
