(DCWatchdog.com) – A mighty strike against the MS-13 gang has been made as Maryland authorities arrested the notorious gang member, David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman, sending shockwaves through the criminal underworld.

See the tweet below!

Orellana-Aleman, a high-ranking MS-13 leader, was detained in a Maryland sweep that also targeted illegal aliens.

As justice tightens its grip, citizens hope this will deter further gang activity in their communities.

The significant arrests in Maryland are part of an extensive operation targeting MS-13 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Orellana-Aleman, a Salvadoran national actively sought in El Salvador for multiple charges, including firearm possession and terrorist affiliations, was arrested in Hyattsville, MD.

Authorities are confident that his capture will disrupt MS-13’s operations not just locally, but across the U.S., Mexico, and Europe.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI’s Virginia Homeland Security Task Force arrested 39 individuals, including known MS-13 members, in a statewide operation targeting violent crime and immigration violations.

This aligns with Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 47, emphasizing close cooperation between state and federal agencies to combat immigration infractions and curtail gang violence.

The arrest is praised as a strategic win against MS-13 by Acting ICE Director for Maryland, Matthew Elliston, who stated, “The apprehension of David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman strikes a significant blow to the leadership and organization of the MS-13 terrorist organization.”

Such collaborations illustrate the power of unified enforcement efforts.

The significance of Orellana-Aleman’s arrest extends beyond Maryland.

ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations see it as a decisive disruption of the MS-13’s structure.

Orellana-Aleman remains in ICE custody, ensuring he no longer poses an immediate threat to the communities he once terrorized, reports The Washington Times.

The joint operation didn’t stop with just Orellana-Aleman. A high-speed chase from Frederick to Montgomery County ended with the arrest of four individuals involved in drug trafficking activities.

Despite initial release, immigration detainers placed by 287(g)-trained correctional officers ensured their custody by ICE, avoiding any return to criminal activity or disappearance before trial.

Meanwhile, MS-13 continues to plague Virginia and Maryland, as the gang’s presence has been felt for decades.

Known for violent crimes, these states have become hubs for MS-13 recruitment and operations.

However, with recent law enforcement successes, Maryland inches closer to a safer, gang-free future.

Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins emphasized the critical role of immigration detainers.

“Those same two suspects were released on personal recognizance on initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner,” he confirmed, highlighting the persistent loopholes in the system that law enforcement must navigate.
