(DCWatchdog.com) – Happening Now: United States Senator Marco Rubio, currently the Ranking Member on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and receives the latest military intelligence briefings from the U.S. Pentagon on an almost hourly basis, was angered when he saw a report on CNN last evening.
According to that CNN report, headlined “US officials fear the worst is yet to come for Kyiv”:
“Ukrainian forces have so far managed to stave off Russian ground forces massed less than 20 miles north of the embattled capital Kyiv — but though they’ve defied US intelligence predictions that the city would likely fall within one to four days of a full-scale Russian assault, US officials warn that Russian President Vladimir Putin could imminently increase the intensity of the attack…
“From a purely military/tactical standpoint, Russia has the manpower and firepower to take Kyiv. No question,” said an American source familiar with the intelligence. “And no matter how much resistance the Ukrainians put up.” [emphasis added]
Seeing that report and retweeting it from his Twitter account, Rubio had his own assessment (you can review the tweet further down this post), stating:
“Maybe #Putin takes #Kyiv, but he will NEVER conquer #Ukraine
He isn’t just fighting against a military he is fighting against over 40 million people
And they won’t stop killing # Russia’s invaders until all of them are gone”
