Liz Cheney Invokes Ronald Reagan?! (Video)

RONALD REAGAN

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a repulsive new demonstration of RINO obnoxiousness, former US Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) invoked President Ronald Reagan in her latest attack on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

On Sunday, Cheney expressed her firm belief that Ronald Reagan would not support Donald Trump if he were alive today, emphasizing her own opposition to Trump, The Hill reports.

“There is absolutely no chance that Ronald Reagan would be supporting Donald Trump. Donald Trump doesn’t stand for any of the things that Ronald Reagan did, and it’s another place where I would urge my Republican colleagues, but in the Congress, but across the country, to really look at Donald Trump’s policies, to really look at the danger that he presents, to look at, what he was willing to do to stay in power,” Cheney stated during an interview on ABC News’s “This Week.”

Cheney has been vocal against Trump since the January 6, 2021, events at the US Capitol, and recently, she endorsed the Democrat candidate, Kamala Harris.

She revealed that her first presidential vote was for Reagan in 1984 and noted she has always voted Republican until now.

The critical nature of the current election, she argues, necessitates a change in her voting pattern.

On Sunday, Cheney criticized Trump’s policy positions and his efforts to cling to power after losing the 2020 election, describing them as a clear departure not only from traditional Republican ideals but also from the constitutional principles fundamental to the United States.

She praised Harris’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, remarking that it was reminiscent of something Reagan or former President George Bush might have delivered.

“It’s very much an embrace and an understanding of the exceptional nature of this great nation, a love of America, a recognition that America is a special place, a recognition that we all have to work together to ensure that,” Cheney said.

She contrasted this with Trump’s regular assertions that America is a failing state and a subject of international ridicule.

The day following her endorsement of Harris, her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, also expressed his support for the Vice President.

He emphasized the importance of defending the Constitution above party lines.

“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again,” Dick Cheney argued.
