Lara Trump was asked about Governor DeSantis’s legal conflict with Disney on the “John Bachman Now” show. She expressed her appreciation for DeSantis’s work on parental rights in Florida but also emphasized the delicate balance he must maintain as a governor to avoid hurting his constituents.
Lara Trump elaborated on Disney’s decision to cancel the development of a $1 billion business campus in Orlando. “With Disney pulling out, it’s evident that the local economy will be hit hard,” she said. She noted that jobs that could have gone to Florida residents are now lost, which will likely be a difficult reality for Governor DeSantis to face.
Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s third child, also spoke about the speculation regarding DeSantis’s potential bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. This speculation has been fueled by DeSantis’s recent international travels to various countries in Asia and Europe.
In a candid remark, Lara Trump said, “Let’s face it: Ron DeSantis is running for president without officially announcing it. He just completed a global tour, and it’s puzzling why someone would undertake such a journey unless they had their sights set on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”
She went on to express her belief that regardless of the efforts by DeSantis or any other potential candidate, such as former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, they are essentially carrying forward the Trump political agenda. She claimed, “They are Trump 2.0. And why would anyone opt for second best and a copy, when you have the real thing running as well, which is Donald Trump.”
