Judge: Alex Jones Liable in Sandy Hook Lawsuits

(DCWatchdog.com) – Happening Now: In the latest development in a multitude of lawsuits brought against Alec Jones of Infowars for his statements that the mass shooting that killed 20 first-graders and six teachers was a plot to confiscate firearms from all Americans and that the families of the victims were nothing more than actors playing roles as part of the government scheme, a judge has found Jones and Infowars liable for defamation.

According to The New York Times, “The judge in Connecticut ruled on Monday that because Mr. Jones refused to turn over documents ordered by the courts, including financial records, he was liable by default. The ruling combines with three previous rulings in Texas to grant the families of 10 Sandy Hook shooting victims four victories in four defamation lawsuits against Mr. Jones.”

To date, Jones has refused to provide the evidence he claims he has to any court in any jurisdiction where he is being sued.

Now, the cases brought against Jones and Infowars in Connecticut and Texas will be placed in the hands of the collective members of the juries to decide what, if any, damages Jones will have to pay to the family members who brought cases against Jones and Infowars.

Legal experts tell DC Watchdog that Jones could be ordered to pay millions of dollars and that the damages could bankrupt both Infowars and Jones.

What do you think? Share your opinion. Do you believe Jones defamed the victims by claiming that Sandy Hook was a government conspiracy to confiscate guns from Americans? Why or why not?
