(DCWatchdog.com) – Earlier today, we, along with many other political outlets, reported on how angry President Joe Biden and the Biden administration is with U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (a West Virginia Democrat who, along with his family, has somehow become a multi-millionaire who drives a Maserati and lives on a million-dollar houseboat in Washington, DC while holding elected office) because Manchin announced on Fox News Sunday that he would not be voting for Biden’s Build Back Better legislation.
As we reported, “Biden was so angry he had his White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, put out a blistering attack on the honesty and integrity of Manchin.”
Now, Manchin is fighting back against the White House staff while trying not to blame Biden himself.
According to the conservative New York Post:
“Sen. Joe Manchin said Monday he ended up killing President Biden’s massive social and environmental spending bill because White House staff drove him to his ‘wit’s end.’
“‘It is not the president. This is staff,’ the West Virginia Democrat told home-state radio host Hoppy Kercheval.
“‘And they drove some things, and they put some things out, that were absolutely inexcusable. They know what it is.’
“Manchin continued: ‘I’m always willing to work and listen to try. I just got to the wit’s end and they know the real reasons what happened.'”
One thing is clear. At this point, the GOP is quite happy to watch the Democrats fight among themselves. At the same time, Biden’s legislative agenda sinks further and further into a political sinkhole along with his approval rating from the American public.
It’s a fair bet that Biden and the Democrats will lose the House and the Senate next fall, and the Republicans couldn’t be more pleased with their political prospects as the calendar turns to 2022.
