Jill Biden Just Did What Joe Hasn’t

(DCWatchdog.com) – While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked him several times to come to Ukraine, President Joe Biden has not done as requested. But today, in a surprise move, the First Lady of the United States of America, Jill Biden, arrived in Ukraine.

Jill Biden participated in a Mother’s Day meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife, Olena Zelenska, and spoke of her support for the embattled country and its people.

“I wanted to come on Mother’s Day,” Biden said with Olena at her side. “I thought it was important to show the Ukrainian people that this war has to stop and this war has been brutal and that the people of the United States stand with the people of Ukraine.”

After a lengthy trip from the United States conducted in secret for security reasons, the private meeting between the two first ladies took place in the relatively small city of Uzhhorod.

The conversation took place in a classroom within a school that has transitioned to housing for Ukrainian refugees forced to flee their homes in other parts of the country.

While speaking with reporters, Zelenska thanked Biden for her “courageous act” in coming to Ukraine, adding, “We understand what it takes for the U.S. first lady to come here during a war when military actions are taking place every day, where the air sirens are happening every day — even today.”

With her Mother’s Day visit, Jill Biden is the latest high-profile American to enter Ukraine, something her husband has not done because of fears for his safety, according to the White House.
