(DCWatchdog.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump has made it clear that she will stay out of her father’s 2024 presidential campaign even though he had pleaded with her to participate, according to a report.
The 45th President of the United States made Tuesday night his long-anticipated big announcement that he is launching his third candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination and the White House.
Trump spoke before about 1,000 people for an hour at his Mar-a-Lago estate, but the former first daughter was notably absent.
“I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” Ivanka said in a statement after her father’s announcement.
“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she said.
“I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our administration’s accomplishments,” added the 41-year-old former First Daughter. She was Trump’s unpaid special adviser during his presidency.
According to a New York Post report, Trump pleaded with his daughter to join him on stage with the family when he unveiled his new presidential run.
The report cited insider sources revealing that Donald Trump spent some of his other daughter Tiffany’s wedding last week trying to convince Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, to be with him on stage during the candidacy announcement. However, his appeals got rejected.
“They both feel they got burned in Washington and don’t want to go back and expose themselves and their children to another bitter campaign,” an insider said.
Unlike his wife, Jared Kushner was in the audience in Mar-a-Lago’s ballroom, during which POTUS 45 spoke for over an hour but remained alone onstage.
Trump’s younger sons, Eric and Barron, and his wife, Melania, were also in the audience.
The other big no-show besides Ivanka was his eldest son, Donald Jr., who was on a hunting trip out West and failed to make it back on time since his scheduled flight got canceled.
According to other sources close to the Trump family, Donald Jr. and Eric are highly supportive of their father’s third presidential candidacy, and so are Eric’s wife, Lara Trump, and Don Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
