(DCWatchdog.com) – Far-left Democrat US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, widely known as “AOC,” has failed to make visits to the Southern Border amid the unprecedented illegal immigration crisis unfolding on President Joe Biden’s watch, a report has revealed.
Ocasio-Cortez, a New York City Democrat and leader of the far-left “Squad” in the US House of Representatives, has been a well-known advocate of illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal aliens.
AOC has not been to the US-Mexican border since Biden became president almost two years, a Fox News report reveals, contrasting that to a high-profile visit there that she made in 2019, as a freshman House member, during the presidency of Donald Trump.
Back then, the far-left Democrat’s visit to the border was much-publicized by the mainstream media.
AOC was even photographed while allegedly crying outside an illegal immigrant center in El Paso, Texas, as she slammed Trump for his measures that helped secure the border.
Since Biden occupied the White House, Ocasio-Cortez hasn’t made any border trips, nor have Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, for that matter.
As per Customs and Border Protection estimates, roughly 6 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States since Biden became president, including over 1 million gotaways.
That includes 2.3 million apprehensions of illegal migrants in the 2022 fiscal year, which ended on September 30.
Ocasio-Cortez’s office did not respond to a Fox News request to verify and inform the American public that she hasn’t been to the Southern border after Biden’s inauguration.
Nevertheless, AOC has been promoting “Democratic narratives about the border and border officials,” the report notes.
Those include the false claims that in 2021, US Border Patrol agents “whipped” illegal immigrants from Haiti as the latter were invading the United States through Texas.
Earlier this week, video footage released by a Texas ranch owner showed two people believed to be illegal immigrants as they were trying to break into her home close to the border. The report describes the border region as a “disaster zone.”
The Southern Border illegal immigration crisis could worsen substantially with the potential lifting of the Title 42 public health order, which provides for the swift expulsion of illegals.
The fate of the Trump-era policy adopted at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 is in the hands of the US Supreme Court. The court has blocked its expiration for the duration of a lawsuit by 19 Republican-led states.
As per the Biden administration’s estimates, lifting Title 42 could lead to 14,000 illegal immigrant arrivals daily, or close to 500,000 per month, up from about 200,000 per month.
The US authorities have already used Title 42 to expel roughly 2.5 million illegals.
