HUGE: Trump Prosecutor SUED!

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a bid to restore justice, a conservative group has slapped Manhattan’s wokeist DA Alvin Bragg, the man behind the so-called “hush money” case against Donald Trump, with a lawsuit alleging the Democrat unlawfully obstructed the release of documents connected to the former president’s trial.

The legal action, instigated by the conservative organization America First Legal, was a response to Bragg’s consistent refusals to grant AFL’s requests under the Freedom of Information Law, The Washington Examiner reports.

These requests were aimed at uncovering communications between Bragg’s office, the Biden administration, and other entities potentially engaged in what AFL has termed the “partisan persecution” of Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.

“There should be nothing to hide. If improper ex parte communications influenced what is supposed to be nonpartisan prosecutorial conduct, all Americans are at risk,” AFL Vice President Daniel Epstein stated.

The inquiry by AFL started in March 2023, targeting both internal and external communications within the district attorney’s office relating to Trump.

The requests included seeking records of interactions with notable individuals such as Lanny Davis, a Democratic consultant and attorney for former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who is credited with initiating the district attorney’s investigation into Trump during a Politico interview in March of the previous year.

At that time, Davis informed former Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance that “the evidence of financial fraud was on the record in the [congressional] hearings and that Vance’s office should interview Michael.”

He also remarked, “I’ll be disappointed” if Bragg did not indict Trump.

Previously, Vance opted not to pursue an indictment after a comprehensive investigation into the Trump hush money case, following a directive from the Southern District of New York to cease action.

However, the case was reignited the year following Bragg’s inauguration in 2022, with Cohen serving as the district attorney’s principal witness during the six-week trial against Trump.

The trial concluded with a jury convicting Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to obscure a hush money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the last weeks of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 18, while Judge Juan Merchan evaluates whether the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity impacts the case.

In the lawsuit, AFL argues that Bragg’s office has acted arbitrarily and unlawfully by failing to fulfill its obligations under New York’s open records law.
