(DCWatchdog.com) – In a chilling tale of online predation, a 14-year-old Tennessee girl was lured and abandoned in the woods by a 28-year-old man she met through an online gaming platform.
The girl, who went missing from her Tennessee home, was found abandoned in the woods of Louisiana after a harrowing nightmare.
The man, Alexander Materne, allegedly drove from Louisiana to Tennessee to pick up the unsuspecting teenager.
Materne then took the girl to his home in St. Rose, Louisiana, where they reportedly engaged in sexual acts.
Upon learning the girl’s true age, the predator left her in a tent in a wooded area in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, with only food and water.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker said, “You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a Christmas miracle that she was found safe. This thing could’ve ended badly.”
While Materne celebrated Christmas with his family in Jennings, Louisiana, the girl’s parents were frantically searching for their daughter.
“They were the key to all of this, I’m telling you if they want a job, I’ll hire both of these parents as investigators,” Sticker added.
Their determination and resourcefulness led them to track Materne to Jennings, involving the police and ultimately leading to the girl’s rescue.
Materne now faces a list of charges, including contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, felony human trafficking, carnal knowledge, and aggravated kidnapping of a child.
