Great news for MAGA patriots as it is official that Florida is building a detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” in the heart of the Everglades to house criminal illegal aliens.

The innovative facility will utilize the state’s natural wildlife as a deterrent while saving taxpayer dollars on traditional security measures that would otherwise be needed to contain illegal aliens awaiting deportation.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier unveiled plans for the detention center, which will be constructed at the nearly abandoned Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility.

The 17,000-acre site, deep in the Everglades, could be operational within 30-60 days after construction begins. It could house up to 1,000 criminal aliens.

The facility’s location provides natural security features that will significantly reduce costs to taxpayers.

Unlike traditional detention centers, which require extensive perimeter security, the Everglades’ indigenous wildlife—including alligators and pythons—serves as natural deterrents for anyone considering escape.

The 39-square-mile facility includes a 10,500-foot runway, making it ideally suited for the transportation of detainees.

This initiative aligns with Florida’s tough stance on illegal immigration and supports agreements with the Trump administration to detain illegal aliens for deportation.

“The Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility – this is an old, virtually abandoned airport facility right in the middle of the Everglades,” the attorney general said.

“Florida’s been leading on immigration enforcement, supporting the Trump administration and ICE efforts to detain and deport criminal aliens,” he added.

Governor Ron DeSantis has taken control of the property, and the detention center is expected to be operational by July.

The move reinforces Florida’s position at the forefront of state-level immigration enforcement, complementing federal efforts to address the border crisis that has allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the country under the past administration.

The State Immigration Enforcement Council, composed of sheriffs and police chiefs, was established to support these immigration enforcement efforts.

Uthmeier has been urging local officials across Florida to cooperate with ICE, highlighting ongoing tensions with some county officials who have been reluctant to assist federal immigration authorities.

Not surprisingly, the project has drawn criticism from liberal environmentalists and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who opposes the facility based on claimed environmental concerns rather than supporting solutions to the illegal immigration crisis.

“Due to the location of this parcel in a critical area, the conveyance of this parcel requires considerable review and due diligence,” Levine Cava wrote in a letter to Kevin Guthrie, the state’s emergency management director under Governor DeSantis.

The Friends of the Everglades advocacy group also opposed the project.

However, supporters argued that utilizing an existing facility minimizes additional environmental impact while addressing the pressing need for detention space for criminal illegal aliens.

Immigration enforcement actions have intensified across Florida in recent months, with a notable raid in Tallahassee gaining national attention.

As federal authorities under the Trump administration ramp up deportation efforts, facilities like “Alligator Alcatraz” will provide crucial detention capacity while protecting American communities from criminal aliens awaiting removal from the country.
