(DCWatchdog.com) – World famous pop singer Madonna had to be “brought back from the dead” when recently found unresponsive in her home – and she was revived with Narcan, a medication known for treating drug overdoses.
According to RadarOnline, the 64-year-old pop star was much closer to death than previously thought.
She had to be administered a Narcan injection when her “lifeless body” was found by an assistant on June 24 to reverse her life-threatening condition.
Yet, there is no indication whatsoever that Madonna overdosed on drugs, and she was likely given Narcan for another reason – to reverse an acute septic shock.
Septic shock is life-threatening when blood pressure drops to a critically low level. The anti-drug overdose medication helps spike blood pressure in such instances.
“There is nothing at all to suggest the hitmaker needed Narcan for the ill effects of any drug use,” the report says.
After she was revived, the star singer spent at least one night intubated in a New York hospital. According to the report, she was on a ventilator for days, with her family warned that “the worst” might happen.
The official explanation for Madonna’s hospitalization was that she ended up in intensive care after a severe bacterial infection.
The mother of six is already alert and recovering at home. The report claims that Estere and Stella, her 10-year-old twins, were at home with her at the time of the incident.
Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, wrote on Twitter that she had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU” but that a “full recovery” was “expected.”
According to a TMZ report, the pop star had a low-grade fever for about a month before her near-death incident.
However, she ignored that and didn’t seek medical help because she concentrated solely on her upcoming 84-date tour, “Celebration.”
The tour, which was supposed to set off in Vancouver, Canada, next week, has been postponed on account of her condition, Page Six reports.
“She was working overtime, but she clearly burnt herself out, and people around her have been politely reminding her that she is not 45 anymore, let alone 25,” a source was quoted as saying.
