(DCWatchdog.com) – The vote-counting still hasn’t ended in Pennsylvania’s deadlocked Senate primary, with Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dave McCormick a mere 0.5 point margin apart, which would trigger a recount.
On Tuesday, Oz, a celebrity physician and author, acknowledged in front of his supporters that a result would be unlikely on Tuesday evening.
However, he also expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious, stating that “after the votes are tallied, I am confident that we will win,” adding, “We are making ferocious process.”
McCormick expressed a similar sentiment, telling his supporters that “we’re not going to have resolution tonight, but we can see the path head. We can see victory,” pledging to “win this campaign.”
If the margin remains .05%, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State must order a recount by 5 pm May 26. The only thing that can shake that tight margin is mail-in ballots and absentee ballots which take days to count.
Given that Oz is a Trump-backed candidate, the former host of the Dr. Oz Show needs to claim victory in Pennsylvania, as his loss would throw Trump’s Midas touch into question.
The Former President has also raised the stakes in the Pennsylvania primary, claiming on Wednesday — in a post to his social media platform — Truth Social, that there could be election fraud involved in the delay in announcing a winner.
“Here we go again,” Trump announced in one post, stating in another that Oz “declare victory,” as it “makes it harder for them to cheat with the ballots that they ‘just happened to find.'”
