Doomsday Clock Updated

Clock in front of blinds, dim red lighting.

(DCWatchdog.com) – In a shocking move that should alarm every patriotic American, the so-called “experts” at the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists have once again moved their fearmongering Doomsday Clock closer to midnight.

This latest ploy, setting the clock at a mere 89 seconds to doomsday, is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to push a radical leftist agenda and create panic among freedom-loving citizens.

The Doomsday Clock, a relic of the Cold War era, was initially created in 1947 to highlight the threat of nuclear weapons.

However, in recent years, it has become a tool for promoting alarmist narratives about climate change and other liberal talking points.

The clock’s current setting at 89 seconds to midnight is the closest it has ever been to the supposed “global catastrophe” in its 78-year history.

This fear-inducing symbol is maintained by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, an organization founded in 1945 by figures including Albert Einstein and J. Robert Oppenheimer.

While these individuals may have had noble intentions initially, the group’s current iteration seems more interested in pushing a globalist agenda than providing objective scientific analysis.

Moreover, the Bulletin’s Security Board and Board of Sponsors, including nine Nobel Laureates, decided to move the clock closer to midnight.

Yet, it is worth questioning whether these so-called experts have been influenced by the same liberal bias that permeates much of academia and the scientific community.

Daniel Holz, the chair of the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board, which sets the clock, said:

“We set the clock closer to midnight because we do not see sufficient positive progress on the global challenges we face, including nuclear risk, climate change, biological threats and advances in disruptive technologies.”

Nuclear proliferation, climate change, and emerging technologies like AI are among the factors considered in setting the clock’s time.

Notably, the Bulletin cites ongoing conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict as reasons for its dire prediction.

However, it conveniently ignores the role that weak leadership and failed foreign policies have played in exacerbating these situations.

Perhaps most concerning is the Bulletin’s emphasis on climate change as a significant factor in setting the clock.

Since 2007, this liberal pet project has been given undue weight in determining how close we supposedly are to “doomsday.”

The clock’s proponents claim it serves as a call to action to address “urgent, man-made existential threats.”

The Doomsday Clock may make for dramatic headlines, but it is crucial to remember that it is not a scientific measurement but a political tool.
